Liverpool look set to miss out on a deal for impressive Benfica ace Anderson Talisca, with A Bola claiming that he’s on the verge of a shock move to Championship outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Brazilian attacking midfielder has been mooted as a target for the Reds of late despite their recent swoops for Georginio Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane.
However, reports claim that Wolves have won the race for the 22-year-old, who is set to join them in a €25m (£16.8m) deal this weekend.
Naturally, such a massive fee for a player who just won the Portuguese title is big news for a Championship side, but the Black Country outfit are flush with cash following a Chinese takeover and have ambitious plans in terms of returning to the Premier League and building for the future.
Talisca netted nine goals in 34 games for Benfica last term and is known for being a classy ‘No.10’ player.
