The Brazilian maestro, who was this week nominated for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award, is said to have attracted the attention of under-fire City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
But despite the rumours, Coutinho insists he has no plans to quit Anfield in the summer, regardless whether the Reds secure Champions League football or not.
“My mind is at Liverpool. I’m a Liverpool player and I don’t think about those things because I’m happy here and want to be here,” he said.
The twinkle-toed 22 year-old – who joined the Reds for a bargain £8.5 million from Inter Milan in January 2013 – has arguably had the most successful season of his still-fledgling career.
As well as netting superb strikes against Southampton, Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers since the turn of the new year, he also scored the crucial winner against Blackburn Rovers which sent Liverpool to the FA Cup semi-finals, where they play Aston Villa on Sunday.
