In his latest column for The Daily Mail, pundit and former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp says that current Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will make a note that his side need to stop Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos when the two teams meet at Anfield on Saturday.
Redknapp was praising the Spaniard after he shone on what was his first start for the north London outfit against Burnley on Saturday.
The 23-year-old provided both assists in the 2-1 victory against the Clarets as he played in the No.10 role in a 4-2-3-1 formation, while according to WhoScored he made three key passes, had three shots and a 90% passing accuracy.
Redknapp wrote: “What a performance from Dani Ceballos on his full Premier League debut.
“Arsenal must already be tempted to ask Real Madrid how much it would cost to sign their loanee on a permanent deal.
“Jurgen Klopp will watch back Arsenal’s win over Burnley and note they need to stop Ceballos at Anfield next week. That will be a great test of the 23-year-old’s ability.”
The Brazilian has established himself as the Merseyside outfit’s top No.6 in recent months, and he should be raring to go against the Gunners this weekend after he was given a rest by Klopp for the game against Southampton on Saturday.
The 25-year-old has already come up against some good competitors during his time in the Premier League, but Redknapp’s comments suggest that he may need to be at his best to stop the threat of Ceballos.
The Real Madrid man is clearly a danger and capable of providing those defence-splitting passes and assists if is full debut against Burnley is anything to go by, and with Liverpool conceding one goal in each of their three matches so far this term, they haven’t looked defensively stable themselves either.
Fabinho could have a key role to play against Unai Emery’s men, then.
