Liverpool are not “not looking at” Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev ahead of the looming transfer deadline, according to La Liga expert Guillem Balague.
The Reds have been aligned with a late move for the Russia international, who was thought to be an alternative option to Alex Teixeira.
The Shakhtar Donetsk man was believed to be the Anfield club’s top target, but the Ukrainian giants are reluctant to sell during the current window, and have slapped a £53m price-tag on their 22 goals in 15 league games attacker.
Although Cheryshev looks set to leave Real in search of regular first-team football for the remainder of the season as he plots to keep his EURO 2016 hopes alive, Balague has claimed that he will not be heading to Liverpool.
He tweeted: “At this moment in time, Liverpool are NOT looking at him but he is looking for a way out even on loan.”

Cheryshev was a mooted summer target for Liverpool, who were reportedly looking at him when it became clear that Raheem Sterling would be moving to Manchester City.
