A rather questionable report from The Sun has understandably whipped Twitter into an absolute frenzy this afternoon.

Citing reports from Italy, the British red top claim epic Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli - who they lovingly describe as 'an oddball' - recently held a meeting with former gaffer Jose Mourinho to discuss his future.

No, Manchester United aren't about to swoop for one of the most spectacular duds in Anfield history; the Portuguese, who managed Balotelli at Inter Milan, essentially told the Italy international to buck his ideas up and stop ruining moves away from Anfield by making outrageous wage demands.

But it's further added that Balotelli's situation on Merseyside has grown so dire that he could plummet down the English football pyramid in search of gae time, with the Championship's new big spenders Wolves and League One side Port Vale - yes, Port Vale, famed for eternal lower league obscurity - in the frame to snap him up.

Needless to say, the predominant emotion on Twitter has been one of great confusion:

But one lad, believed it or not, actually predicted such a scenario 18 months ago. Take a bow Cain Kirby, and please only use your powers for good...
