The Reds have been linked with the 22-year-old frequently in recent weeks and with talks progressing between Liverpool and the German outfit, The Guardian claim a £4.7million transfer to Anfield is now on the horizon.

Karius will be brought in as competition for Belgium international Simon Mignolet. Despite the 28-year-old remaining uncontested as Liverpool’s No.1 for the last three seasons, proneness to individual errors has lead to consistent criticism of his role in the starting Xi.
