Liverpool outcast keen on career-reviving Serie A move, but there’s one massive issue

Mario Balotelli is ready to leave Liverpool for Sassuolo, however the Serie A side are not overly keen on the striker, according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian forward is currently in the wilderness on Merseyside after a disastrous two years, with Jurgen Klopp having frozen him out of his first-team plans altogether.

‘Balo’ endured a nightmare debut season at Anfield in which he netted just four goals in all competitions during 2014/15, before he returned to AC Milan on loan, where he struggled with a mixture of poor form and injury.

And with the prospect of a wasted 2016/17 campaign on the peripheries at Liverpool, reports claim Balotelli is keen to move on, with Sassuolo an appealing option for him.

However, the Neroverdi are not entirely open to the idea of signing the 26-year-old, who has developed a reputation for a perceived lack of effort.

Fellow Serie A side Chievo remain an option for the player, but his wage demands are far above the budgets of midtable Italian teams.
