Liverpool owners eyeing managerial replacement for under-fire Rodgers

Liverpool’s American owners are running out of patience with under-fire manager Brendan Rodgers and are contemplating approaching US national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann if they do finally decide to part ways with Rodgers.

Klinsmann was formerly a managerial target for the Anfield side when previous owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett were in charge, and it is believed that he is still interested in managing in the Premier League one day.

The former German international striker took over as coach of the US national side in 2011 and has impressed in the role, leading them to the 2014 World Cup.

Liverpool have struggled badly this season and are currently in 11th place in the Premier League. While owners FSG are publicly supportive of Rodgers, it is believed that they will look for another manager should the 41 year-old fail to secure a Champions League spot for the Reds at the end of the season.
