One of the most intriguing transfer developments which has been taking place over the course of this season is that of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and where his future may lie. At the beginning of the summer, it seemed likely that either Real Madrid or Arsenal would be the suitors, however the Gunners have been the only team to make formal offers for the Uruguayan.
Following Arsenal’s latest attempt to snap up the controversial striker, with a bid of £40,000,001 (an attempt to force a move on Suarez’s contract based on a clause) Twitter reacted in a way only the social media hub can.
Which is exactly when the latest Twitter viral post developed with Liverpool owner John Henry tweeting:
What do you think they’re smoking over there at Emirates?
— John W. Henry (@John_W_Henry) July 24, 2013
This has caused widespread attention from not merely Arsenal and Liverpool fans, but the whole footballing world. Not only does the tweet offer the opinion of the actual owner of the club, but it also shows Henry has a sense of humour – something which is perhaps not seen widely by the football community.
Here’s just some of the ways in which Twitter reacted to Henry’s rant…
So what was John Henry smoking when he bought this lot? Andy Carroll -£35, Downing – £20, Henderson £16, Charlie Adam- £6.75

Mind is racing right now. We’ve got John Henry literally ripping the piss out of Arsenal. Suarez wanting out. No signings that improve us.
