Liverpool planning to go back in for Teixeira

Liverpool have not given up hope of signing Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk, but any move for the Brazilian will be pursued in the summer, according to reports from The Express.

The free-scoring attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield over the course of the past week, and he even declared that he was desperate to move to Merseyside before the close of the current window.

However, despite a willingness from Liverpool and the player to get a deal over the line, Shakhtar have held firm in their stance that Teixeira will not be sold for anything under their valuation, instead making it publically known that his £53m buyout clause would need to be triggered to get a deal done.

It’s since been widely suggested that a deal before tonight’s 11pm deadline will be a major shock, but reports claim that Teixeira remains a target with the summer window in mind.

Jurgen Klopp is thought to be eager to boost his side’s effectiveness in the final third, and with 22 goals in just 15 league games this season, the 26-year-old certainly boasts a record to suggest he could deliver.

The Express also claim that Liverpool have no interest in Real Madrid’s Russia international, Denis Cheryshev.
