The Reds’ boss is keen on the pair of French internationals – particularly Menez – and has sent scouts to Paris to monitor both players, according to The Metro.
Menez is a fast and skilful attacking midfielder who can comfortably play on both wings. Joining the French giants in 2011, he became a regular in the starting XI and completed a good season, providing nine goals and 13 assists in all competitions.
The 25-year-old began this season again starting for the Parisians, but the arrivals of Lucas Moura and David Beckham have increased the competition and the Frenchman has featured a lot less since January, despite the French international still boasting 5 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
Striker Gameiro, on the other hand, competes with Zlatan Ibrahimovic for a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s side, and has normally appeared as a substitute, scoring 6 goals this season.
The French forward when asked appeared keen on a summer move.
“I want to play football every time, I am no different to any player,” Gameiro said.
“It is difficult to sit on the bench but all big clubs in Europe have the same problems, you can’t play every game but being involved is good.
“I always wanted to play abroad. At the end of the season, hopefully after we win the title, we can decide about my future.”
