Liverpool plotting to snatch Chelsea starlet

Liverpool are among a pack of teams plotting to lure highly-rated youngster Ola Aina away from Chelsea, according to reports from The Mirror.

The England U-21 international’s contract expires at the end of the season and he’s yet to commit himself to a longer stay in west London.

Although the 19-year-old would technically be a free agent, Chelsea would still be due a compensation fee for their part in his development, but reports claim that this has not deterred Liverpool.

The Reds are believed to be eager to lure the versatile defender to Merseyside as they continue their policy of recruiting talented youngsters – Raheem Sterling and Jordon Ibe were brought to the club from QPR and Wycombe respectively.

In recent times Joe Cole and Daniel Sturridge have moved from Stamford Bridge to Anfield, while the likes of Fernando Torres, Yossi Benayoun and Raul Meireles have made the opposite trip.
