Liverpool ready to take on Everton for Barca outcast

Liverpool are ready to go head-to-head with bitter rivals Everton for the signature of Barcelona attacker Cristian Tello, according to reports from A Bola.

The 24-year-old is currently away from the Nou Camp on loan at Porto, whom he joined looking for regular first-team football.

Tello has featured on more occasions in Portugal than he could have realistically hoped to had he remained at Barca, and reports claim that he’s reluctant to head back to the Catalan giants as a result of his slim chances of playing time, which has alerted Everton and Liverpool.

The Reds are, arguably, the favourites to land the versatile forward, who could help Jurgen Klopp as he looks to add a greater goal threat to the side he recently inherited from Brendan Rodgers.

However, Everton are not out of the running, with Gerard Deulofeu’s experiences at Goodison Park – he joined them once on loan and has now signed permanently for the Toffees – potentially enough to persuade his ex-team-mate Tello to opt for the blue shirt.
