The 20-year-old is rated as one of the Anfield outfit’s most exciting youngsters and made his first team debut at the start of last season, featuring from the bench in the Europa League.
In fact, Brannagan is so highly-rated that he’s been linked with moves to long-term admirers Barcelona and Real Madrid in recent months.
According to The Liverpool Echo, League One champions Wigan Athletic – who will be battling it out in the Championship next season – have just launched a £1million transfer bid for the England U20 international.
However, the Reds have immediately rejected the offer and are in fact set to hold talks with Brannagan in the coming weeks.
The midfielder is expected to sign a long-term Anfield contract on improved terms and is said to have a huge fan in Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
