The deep-lying playmaker made headlines early last season when he became the youngest ever player to captain a side in Champions League action, sporting the armband for the Portuguese giants as they took on Maccabi Tel Aviv at just 18.
Now 19, Neves has continued to impress at the Estadio Do Dragao, but reports claim that Porto may cash in on their teenage sensation, with interest from Liverpool genuine.
It’s suggested that Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the player and could make a move for him, which makes a degree of sense considering that the Reds’ swoops for Piotr Zielinski and Mahmoud Dahoud have suffered set-backs in recent days.
Liverpool were aligned with a raid for Neves late last year, but a deal failed to come to fruition.
Zielinksi is thought to be one of Klopp’s major targets, yet a deal with Udinese is proving difficult to broker, which has pushed the Poland international towards Napoli.
Dahoud is also wanted, but with Borussia Monchengladbach having sold Granit Xhaka to Arsenal and lost Havard Nordtveit to West Ham, they are reluctant to offload their 20-year-old central midfielder.
