Liverpool had representatives in attendance to watch Malaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho over the weekend and “talks” between the two clubs are expected at the end of the season, according to Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones.
The Reds have endured an up and down season under Jurgen Klopp so far, with the German having struggled to find consistency since being parachuted in to replace Brenan Rodgers back in October.
With only Steven Caulker added to his ranks – Marko Grujic has been loaned back to Red Star Belgrade – the Anfield boss is expected to push through deals this summer to build the ‘ambitious’ squad he was promised upon his arrival, and a Bosman swoop for Joel Matip hints that he’ll be backed.
Now Jones, speaking on Bleacher Report’s ‘Inside Buzz’ show (snippet below), has revealed that Camacho is a player the Merseyside club are keen on, with scouts having assessed him during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Real Madrid.
He also claims that “talks” are expected between Liverpool and Malaga at the end of the season.
Camacho, valued at around £7m, is a holding midfielder who has been capped once by Spain back in 2014.
