Liverpool secure triple transfer swoop

Liverpool signing Mamadou Sakho

Liverpool have announced three signings on transfer deadline day, reports the Express.

PSG defender Mamadou Sakho, Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori and Chelsea’s Victor Moses have all moved to Anfield. The Chelsea winger has moved to Liverpool for a season-long loan, whilst the defending duo have joined on permanent deals.

23-year-old Sakho, who has played 14 matches for the French senior team, has moved to Merseyside for €19million. The centre-back, who has come through the PSG youth academy, has left the French capital after just over 150 league appearances for the Ligue 1 champions.

He joins Tiago Ilori, who had been linked with a move to Anfield for over a month. The 20-year-old, who played 3 times at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup this summer, has moved for £6.7million. The pair have signed in the wake of injury concerns to Kolo Toure, Sebastian Coates and Glen Johnson.

Moses, who scored 4 times in the Europa League last season as he helped Chelsea go on to lift the trophy, hasn’t featured for the Blues under Jose Mourinho this season, and is yet to even appear on the Blues’ bench. The Portuguese manager has allowed the winger to go on loan, and he has now joined the Reds for a £1.5million loan fee.

The trio were all at Anfield yesterday as they watched Liverpool beat Manchester United 1-0.

Are Reds fans happy with these deals? Are Liverpool done, or do they need someone else too?
