The San Siro giants look set to enter the market for a new striker should Mario Balotelli depart in the summer, and Colombian striker Muriel fits the bill.
Balotelli – who experienced a controversial spell with Manchester City before joining Milan in January 2013 – has been linked with a return to England following a difficult season in Serie A.
Clarence Seedorf’s side currently occupy 12th place in Serie A, and both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with a move to bring the Italian striker back to England.
That would see Milan turn to Liverpool target Muriel, as the 22-year-old has endured a difficult season with Udinese, following a rift with manager Francesco Guidolin.
However, Muriel is still regarded as a player with plenty of potential, and has attracted the interest of Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, who is looking to pay £15million to land the versatile forward.
The Colombian forward has managed one goal in five outings for his country, and could be selected for the summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
