Liverpool are circling Red Bull Leipzig midfielder Emil Forsberg as a realistic target this month, according to the Metro.
The Swedish winger is thought to be available for around £6.6m as the club are still battling for promotion to the top tier in German football.
Despite plying his trade in a league of relatively low stature, the 24-year old was voted the Swedish Midfielder of the Year in 2014.
A natural left-winger, the ex-Malmo FF ace could represent somewhat of a coup for the Reds with the likes of Inter Milan, AS Roma and Valencia also understood to be interested.
However, the player is thought to have been a fan of the Merseyside giants all of his life, which could sway him towards a move to Anfield should a deal be agreed between the two clubs.
Manager Jurgen Klopp does not currently have an awful lot of wide options, with only young winger Jordon Ibe a truly natural fit in the squad right now.
