Liverpool set to make a move for Marseille marksman

Andre Ayew 1Andre Ayew is a £10 million target for Liverpool and Newcastle in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Ghana international has attracted the interest of several Premier League clubs with a string of impressive displays for Marseille.

The French club though may look to cash in on the star who has 18 months left on his contract.

Marseille currently sit bottom of their Champions League group having made a dismal start to their European campaign and Liverpool are believed to think Ayew could boost their chances of making the same competition next season.

The Ligue 1 campaign has been similarly disappointing for Marseille and Ayew is believed to be ready to leave the Stade Velodrome if given the opportunity to do so.

Andre’s brother Jordan Ayew is already plying his trade in the Premier League with West Brom and is believed to be keen on following his lead.

The 23 year old frontman had been on Alan Pardew’s radar in the summer and the Magpies could launch a bid for the African ace once more, but they are likely to look for more affordable transfer targets.

Brendan Rodgers is also keen to add to his striking options in January to alleviate the goal pressure on Sturridge and Suarez.

Liverpool are looking to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in their last victory when they entertain Fulham at Anfield next Saturday.

Would Ayew help Liverpool in their pursuit for a top four spot?
