The Reds have been tracking the former Barcelona ace for some time, with rumours having suggested that a deal is close.
However, with Brendan Rodgers hinting that he is not looking to bring in the 32-year-old during a recent interview and reports indicating that the player himself has rejected a trial with the club – which Liverpool were keen on due to his long-term knee injury – Bayern have been alerted to the situation.
Now it’s claimed that Allianz Arena chief Pep Guardiola is keen on the experienced stopper, despite possessing Manuel Neuer and Pepe Reina.
The former Barca chief coached the ‘keeper during his time at the Camp Nou, and is known to be a massive fan of his abilities.
It’s understood that Guardiola has already spoken to Valdes, but with first-team opportunities likely to be slim, it remains unclear as to whether or not the player will even consider the Bavarian giants.
