Thiago Alcantara has not been among the names being linked with a move to Liverpool, but perhaps he should be.

The Bayern Munich star could be on the lookout for a new club this summer due to the hefty amount of midfielders that the Bavarians currently possess.

Alcantara - valued at £54m by Transfermarkt - signed for the Bundesliga giants from Barcelona in 2013 and has gone on to win five league trophies.

Liverpool could do with a player who has that experience and winning mentality.

One of the most notable things about the Reds heading into May's Champions League final, which they lost 3-1 to Real Madrid, was the lack of trophy winners among the group.

On Monday during Spain's Group B match against Morocco at the World Cup in Russia, Alcantara played 73 minutes of the 2-2 draw.

The midfielder was heavily involved in the game as only Isco, Sergio Ramos and Andres Iniesta had more touches than Alcantara.

The Bayern star, who predominantly plays centrally but can push further forward or drop back, showed all aspects of his game.

As well as unleashing two shots on goal, the midfielder committed three tackles - the most in the match alongside Isco and Dani Carvajal.
