Liverpool should consider making a move for Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka if Nathaniel Clyne leaves Anfield.
Since last year, manager Jurgen Klopp has made Trent Alexander-Arnold his first-choice right-back, which has left Clyne out in the cold.
A recent report from the Liverpool Echo has suggested that the experienced England international may need to leave the club in order to revive his career.
If that happens, then the Reds will have an opening in that position, but should they be looking for a new right-back anyway?
Alexander-Arnold has been struggling for form of late, which has resulted in Klopp moving Joe Gomez from his centre-back position to act as cover.
Perhaps the academy graduate needs a bit of competition to rev him up, and Crystal Palace’s Wan-Bissaka is the ideal candidate.
The Croydon-born player is only 20 years old, but he has been demonstrating in the Premier League this season that he has the quality to thrive at the top level.
Wan-Bissaka has played in all but one of the Eagles’ top-flight matches and has produced one assist.
From a defensive standpoint, the youngster is a tough tackler and reads the game well.

However, he also has a forward-thinking approach and tries to get the ball in the final third when possible.
Alexander-Arnold’s recent dip does not mean that he deserves to be dropped by Klopp, but it may give him the push he needs knowing that a talented star is vying for the same position.
The problem for Liverpool, though, is whether Wan-Bissaka would want to compete with the club’s homegrown favourite.
