Liverpool star could leave if Champions League quest fails

Luis Suarez could leave Liverpool at the end of the season if the Reds fail to qualify for the Champions League, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Uruguayan ace – who has netted 20 Premier League goals in 15 outings this season – was heavily linked with a summer move away from Anfield, but eventually stayed put as the club held firm amid interest from Arsenal and Real Madrid.

In a bid to end speculation surrounding his future for this month the Merseysiders tied their man down to a new mega contract recently, but it is believed that a series of clauses could see him move on at the end of the season.

Suarez is known to be desperate to play in the Champions League, and it is thought that if Liverpool miss out on a spot at Europe’s top table a bid of £100m could see him exit.

Very few clubs on the planet could afford such a fee, which could limit the potential destinations to Real Madrid and Barcelona – while Monaco or PSG may also be keen.

While £100m would be enough for a foreign side to snap up the South American, it is believed that English teams may have to stump up a further £20m for a deal.
