The controversial Uruguayan made little secret of his desire to leave Anfield this summer, citing media treatment and a lack of Champions League football as major concerns.
Although he was keen to join Real Madrid – and was even open to a move to Arsenal – the striker was unable to secure a move and will remain at Liverpool until at least January.
Despite openly chasing a transfer, Suarez says that he is happy to have stayed on Merseyside.
“I will go back to Liverpool to play, and I hope to be the same player the fans can trust,” Suarez said.
“I said I wanted to play in the Champions League, but when that didn’t happen, I knew I’d be happy with life to have my future at Liverpool.
“I am comfortable with the decision. I said if there was something good, I would be interested, if not, then I am happy at Liverpool. I can say now I am happy.”
Suarez is currently serving a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic, but is set to return to Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI in three games’ time.
The 26-year-old old ended last season with 23 goals, and was shortlisted for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.
Will Luis Suarez be a Liverpool player this time next year?
