The Uruguayan forward has fallen out with boss Brendan Rodgers after Suarez claimed the Northern Irishman went back on a gentlemen’s agreement that said he would be allowed to leave for a Champions League club this summer if a reported release clause of over £40million was met.
Suarez has since been angered by the club’s refusal to sell to Arsenal, who have seen two offers rejected by the Reds this summer.
Rodgers is adamant that no such agreement took place with Suarez, and has told the Uruguayan to train alone after showing ‘total disrespect’ to the club and his teammates.
“There needs to be an apology to his team-mates and to the club and once we get that commitment that he is ready then we will have the player we have always had,” Rodgers said.
Suarez is understood to remain furious with the Liverpool boss, and sees no way back for himself at the club. He has trained alone all week and kept quiet in the media, with his recent behaviour causing outrage among the clubs senior pro’s.
Ex-Reds defender Jamie Carragher called the players attitude ‘laughable’ over the weekend, while club owner John W.Henry once again repeated his stance the club would not be selling to Arsenal, describing any potential deal as ‘ludicrous.’
