He has joined up with his teammates later than the rest due to his involvements in the Confederations Cup in Brazil earlier this summer, and it will be his first meeting with Brendan Rodgers since he expressed his desire to leave Anfield.
Despite this statement by Suarez, it is understood that Rodgers has made it abundantly clear that he is unwilling to sell Suarez unless an increased bid is made, but has also stated his disappointment in the forward, who is not reciprocating the loyalty that Liverpool showed him throughout the many controversies that entangled both the Uruguayan and the club.
It is understood the striker would be happy to move to the Emirates, however this would not be possible until Arsenal increase their previous offer of £35million made 10 days ago. An offer nearing the £40m mark is thought to be a figure that could tempt Liverpool to sell the striker, however whether Wenger is happy to comply with this figure is still unknown.
This transfer story follows that of Pepe Reina’s impending loan move to Napoli, where he will join up with former manager Rafa Benitez, and with Simon Mingolet sure to take the number one jersey at Anfield, there is talk of this deal being made permanent.
