The Reds enjoyed a fantastic opening weekend win over Arsenal in Premier League action on Sunday, in which three debutants – Georginio Wijnaldum, Ragnar Klavan and Sadio Mane – started the 3-4 epic at the Emirates Stadium.
Alongside the trio, Jurgen Klopp has moved to sign goalkeepers Alex Manninger and Loris Karius, as well as defender Joel Matip, while Marko Grujic has been welcomed to Anfield following his January move from Red Star Belgrade – he was shipped back to the Serbian side on loan as part of the winter agreement.
However, the German still has areas of weakness in his first-team, with the holding midfield position a zone of concern.
And reports claim that a bid for Medel has been submitted, with the combative South American an option to solve the problem.
The Inter ace has Premier League experience following a spell with Cardiff between 2013 and 2014, albeit he was a part of the Bluebirds side that was relegated.
However, Medel has bee a huge success at international level, gaining 95 caps with Chile while winning the Copa America in both 2015 and 2016.
Although it’s somewhat a shock link, it’s already been claimed that Klopp has scouted the enforcer in recent times.
