Liverpool target Lucas Biglia is free to leave Anderlecht for £8.35m next month, according to the club’s general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck.

The Argentinian has been attracting the interest of a number of Premier League clubs in recent times and it is believed that Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is a big fan.

Although it was thought that the Belgian club had no interest in parting company with one of their star men it seems that a deal could be reached next month.

Holsbeeck told Calciomercato that Biglia will be sold, but only if their asking price is met:

"We have not formally received an offer for Lucas but we know that his agent is making moves in the transfer market," he said.

"Biglia has two and a half years left on his contract and we would only consider letting him go if we receive an offer of €10.25m.

“He won't leave in January for a penny less." (TalkSport)

Despite having a number of central midfield options, Rodgers sees the playmaker as the ideal candidate to strengthen his options.

With Lucas, Joe Allen and Steven Gerrard being the Northern Irishman’s first-choice trio, it would appear that Biglia would be competing with the likes of Jonjo Shelvey and Nuri Sahin for playing time.
