Liverpool to take non-league hot-shot on trial

Daniel CarrLiverpool are set to offer Dulwich Hamlet striker Daniel Carr a week-long trial at the club, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The 18-year-old has been in prolific form for the South London outfit, notching an incredible 23 goals in 23 games this season.

These razor-sharp performances have alerted a number of professional clubs, but the Reds are set to make the first move by offering the front-man a chance to train with the team.

Liverpool’s scouting team have assessed the teenager, and believe that he has the potential to impress at the highest level.

However, it will be a major in in terms of quality for Carr, who currently plays his regular football eight divisions below the Anfield giants.

Dulwich Hamlet boss Gavin Rose says that the player is key to his team’s chances of competing, but that they will not stand in his way if he gets a chance to join a big club:

“We’d like to hold onto our boys to give us the best chance of competing in the league, which is so tight.” He said.

“If someone comes in for them at the end of the season then we would give them our blessing as a club.

“It’s the normal attention from clubs but we’re trying not to focus on that and concentrate instead on the boy progressing.”
