Alex Teixeira will join Chinese Super League outfit Jiangsu Suning TODAY, according to reports from CalcioMercatoWeb.
The Brazilian was linked with a move to Liverpool last month, and even openly declared his willingness to join the Anfield club.
Since then it has been suggested that the Reds will revive a failed move for the £38m-rated attacking midfielder later this year, but now reports claim that that may be too late, with the 26-year-old having all but put pen to paper with Jiangsu.
Shakhtar Donestk are understood to have accepted an offer from the free-spending Chinese side, while Teixeira himself is open to making a shock move to the emerging Super League.
The player himself is likely to pocket a large salary in the Far East, and could follow a host of big names such as Ramires, Jackson Martinez and Fredy Guarin to China.
Teixeira is currently in the best form of his career with 22 goals in just 15 league games to his name, albeit he is yet to be called up to represent Brazil – a state of affairs that may not change if he is with Jiangsu.
