Liverpool Transfer Roundup: Olmo interest, Origi news, Coutinho to stay at Barca

Yesterday’s Liverpool transfer roundup entailed interest in a Real Madrid midfielder, a new contract for a youngster and an update on the future of a Croatian defender. Today’s edition features Reds eyes on a Spanish U21 international, the future of a Champions League hero and news on a Barcelona star.

Interest in Olmo

According to Friday’s print edition of AS (via Sport Witness), Liverpool are interested in signing Dinamo Zagreb’s Dani Olmo. The 21-year-old has reportedly been scouted by the Merseyside outfit for months. Borussia Dortmund are also keeping an eye on the attack-minded player.

Origi to stay

The Liverpool Echo is reporting that Liverpool will resist the temptation to sell Divock Origi this summer. Real Betis are amongst a number of sides interested in the Belgian international, but Jurgen Klopp and co want the 24-year-old to stay at the club, regardless of whether he signs a new contract.

Barcelona do not want to sell Coutinho

Philippe Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian has told RMC Sport that FC Barcelona have no plans to sell the Brazilian. He said to the outlet, “I spoke to Barca’s director of football Pep Segura in the past few days, and he told me that they do not want to sell Coutinho this summer, no matter the price”. Liverpool have reportedly been interested in taking the 27-year-old back to Anfield.
