Liverpool vs Tottenham: Confirmed Starting XIs

In arguably the pick of the Premier League’s midweek action, tonight’s 8pm kick-off sees two of the division’s most in-form sides, Liverpool and Tottenham, take on each other at Anfield.

Indeed, Spurs enter the fixture with 13 points from their last six league encounters, but the Reds boast a record one point better with 14, and are currently the only English side to go without defeat in the top flight since the turn of the year.

Home advantage plays to the Anfield outfit’s favour too, but Spurs are currently four points and two places higher in the Premier League table.

So who goes into tonight’s fixture as the favourites, if there’s one at all? Perhaps the starting XI’s, just officially confirmed on Twitter, will shed some light on the issue:

Of course, the big talking point remains the absence of Raheem Sterling, who was ruled out earlier today with a foot injury. Barring that, Liverpool and Tottenham both start with familiar line-ups and habitual formations – a 3-4-2-1 and a 4-2-3-1 respectively.
