The red and blue halves of Merseyside are set to do battle for the second time this season at Goodison Park on Saturday evening, with both clubs having endured mixed campaigns so far.
While the visitors have stuttered but are now looking impressive, the Toffees have failed to match the highs of last term, and could be dragged within touching distance of the relegation zone should results go against them over the coming days.
Liverpool are unbeaten in the last nine clashes between the teams, and ‘Carra’ feels that Brendan Rodgers’ side will have too much for Everton again this time around:
“It’s not far off a 50-50 game,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“I saw Everton play Manchester City at home a few weeks ago and even though they were in the middle of a bad run they played really well and could have got more out of it.
“It will be close on Saturday but I just fancy Liverpool to edge it with the form they are in and the attacking options they have. Liverpool to win 2-1.”
Liverpool will be boosted by the return to fitness of Daniel Sturridge, who could make his first start for the club since August after successfully coming through games against West Ham and Bolton as a substitute in the last seven days.
