The Villains signed the 22-year-old from Nice last summer, after making 60 appearances across two seasons with the French club.
The France U21 thoroughly impressed at the start of last term, averaging 3.6 tackles, 3.7 interceptions and 2.5 successful dribbles per match, but saw his season reduced to just 10 Premier League appearances after suffering a serious knee injury whilst on international duty.
Liverpool were linked with a shock swoop for the left-back last month by French publication L’Equipe and the rumours have once again re-emerged courtesy of Le Parisian journalist Florian Fieschi.
He wrote on Twitter yesterday; “Jordan Amavi is in the viewfinder of Liverpool.”
Get French Football News have added some more substance to the story, claiming Liverpool met Amavi’s agent in June and that the Premier League side will decide whether or not to swoop for the youngster within the next ten days.
