Liverpool willing to wait until summer for talented midfielder deal

Liverpool are keeping an eye on Udinese’s impressive midfielder Piotr Zielinski ahead of a potential summer move, according to reports from The Guardian.

The 21-year-old is currently in his second successive season on loan with Serie A outfit Empoli, and has impressed so far this term, scoring against AC Milan in his most recent outing.

As well as performing well at club level, Zielinski has also made an impact at a senior international level, winning 11 caps with Poland while featuring in their successful EURO 2016 qualification campaign.

And reports claim that Liverpool’s interest has been piqued by the young midfielder, although a summer move instead of a late January swoop seems to be their plan.

A move for Zielinski would further illustrated the Merseysiders’ commitment to emerging talent, with Marko Grujic having been signed this month – albeit he is back at Red Star Belgrade on loan for the remainder of the season.
