Liverpool are one of five Premier League clubs interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, according to The Mirror.

What's the word?

The 18-year-old has certainly caught the eye since he made his breakthrough in the Dortmund first team.

The youngster was part of Manchester City's youth team between 2015 and 2017, but after struggling to earn an opportunity in the senior setup, he moved to Dortmund.

This season, the winger has made 10 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and creating nine assists.

According to The Mirror, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in signing Sancho.

The report adds that Dortmund feel confident that the teenager will cost upwards of £100m in the next few seasons.

Should Liverpool pursue?

There is no doubting that Sancho is a brilliant talent, and it is understandable that so many big clubs have taken an interest.

Given how Kylian Mbappe has risen through the ranks so quickly at such a young age, it is hard to ignore hype surrounding another teen.

However, the attack-minded star is nowhere near worth record-breaking figures, and for Liverpool, they should not put all their energy into trying to recruit him unless Klopp can use his Dortmund contacts to knock a hefty amount off of the crazy fee.

If not and a handful of Premier League clubs are interested in Sancho, then the Reds do not want to find themselves in a bidding war that they cannot win.

The club already have plenty of impressive youth talent in their ranks, so perhaps they should prioritise developing those before moving for Sancho.
