Daniel Sturridge was a pivotal part of Brendan Rodgers’s term at Liverpool, particularly in the 2013-14 season when he teamed up with Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling to cause havoc to defences.
The club came achingly close to winning the Premier League title, but they eventually missed out to Manchester City.
Since then, though, injuries have taken a toll on Sturridge and as a result of missing large chunks of the season, he has dropped down the pecking order.
When Jurgen Klopp took over as Liverpool manager in October 2015, it soon became clear that the striker would not suit the system.

In January, the 28-year-old signed for West Bromwich Albion on a short-term loan, but once again, injury curtailed his progress.
Sturridge, who has earned 26 caps for England, now finds himself in limbo as he is unlikely to break into Klopp’s first team and his injury problems could put other clubs off.
According to Turkish newspaper Star, talks have been held between Liverpool and Besiktas regarding a transfer for the striker, but the two parties are struggling to agree on a fee.
The publication states that the Reds want around €15m (£13m), but the Turkish outfit are only prepared to part with around €5m (£4.3m).
Liverpool fans have been posting their thoughts on the situation.
