Liverpool’s £16m move for Sevilla ace hits snag

Liverpool’s hopes of signing Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno have been halted due to the La Liga club’s financial demands, according to the Independent.

Sevilla want Liverpool to pay the bulk of the £16.2m transfer fee up front, as well as a number of guaranteed add-ons to the initial fee.

The 21-year-old Spaniard was due to fly to England with his father and agent on Monday but now a deal could be in jeopardy if the Reds fail to agree to Sevilla’s demands.

And the transfer could also be damaged by Suso’s imminent move to Porto, despite the Anfield youngster initially being part of the deal to bring Moreno to the club.

If Liverpool can still come to an agreement over the payment structure of the deal, Moreno will become Brendan Rodgers’ third summer signing, following the arrivals of Rickie Lambert from Southampton and Emre Can from Borussia Dortmund.
