In February Martin Skrtel was a Liverpool hero for his display against Arsenal. The big Slovakian nodded in two goals in 10 minutes as the Reds ran riot, while also looking fairly solid at the other end of the pitch.
Fast forward to the current date, and Skrtel is public enemy number one at Anfield as you read this… The burly centre-back was out-muscled, out-jumped and out-desire by Mathieu Debuchy at the back post as Liverpool surrendered a well-deserved 1-0 lead within minutes of securing it. Naturally, fans were less than pleased with the Eastern European ‘enforcer’:

Skrtel getting his fifth booking would make my Christmas. — George (@Geormajesty) December 21, 2014

Much better Liverpool! Soo unlucky, Skrtel let us down again. — Signal (@SignalOfficial) December 21, 2014
Skrtel is only in the team because he scored goals last year. That’s not a CB’s job.
