Liverpool have enjoyed a fantastic 2016/17 campaign thus far, going into Christmas Day second-placed in the Premier League table following a late win over local rivals Everton earlier this week - albeit, still six points behind pacesetters Chelsea.

The west Londoners may boast a superior points tally but no side has scored more Premier League goals than Jurgen Klopp's Reds this season, who boast 41 from just 17 games.

That's in no small part due to the free-flowing football Klopp insists upon, with nomadic forwards, offensive central midfielders and roaming full-backs aplenty.

And now we're almost halfway through the campaign, Christmas Day seems as good a time as any to look back on some of the Anfield outfit's greatest strikes in the Premier League.

So without further ado, here's our rundown of Liverpool's five best goals so far this season - let us know which one's your favourite in the comments section below!

5. Divock Origi - Sunderland

When Philippe Coutinho suffered a six-week ankle injury against Sunderland in November, many Kopites feared for the team's chances of claiming domestic success.

During the same contest, Belgian forward Origi ceased such concerns when his goal opened proceedings against the Wearsiders.

Origi has since filled the void left by Coutinho and this special goal set the forward on his way to succeed in the Brazilian's absence.

4. Emre Can - Bournemouth

German midfielder Emre Can has been in good form this season, stepping in for the likes of Adam Lallana and Gigi Wijnaldum when required.

Against Bournemouth earlier this month, Can looked like he had given the Reds all three points on the south coast with this technically superb strike.

The side foot  into the top corner gave Liverpool a 1-3 lead, before they remarkable threw away the game by losing 4-3 to Eddie Howe's side.

3. Philippe Coutinho - Arsenal

It won't be the Liverpool goal against Arsenal to appear on the list. Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho's phenomenal thirty-five-yard free-kick proved unstoppable for Petr Cech in the Gunners goal.

Coutinho frequently pops up with stunning strikes from long distance, but this goal at the Emirates Stadium was one of the Brazil international's finest.

2. Jordan Henderson - Chelsea

Surprisingly enough, Henderson's strike against Chelsea hasn't topped our list - but the goal remains worthy of second place.

The Reds' record at Stamford Bridge is impressive and Henderson's thirty-yard curling shot guaranteed another Jurgen Klopp victory in west London.

Henderson has found himself in a more defensive role this season, anchoring the midfield, but still managed to affect the scoreline in a crucial game for the Merseysiders.

1. Sadio Mané - Arsenal

When signing from a mid-table team for an astronomical fee, what is the best way of silencing your critics? The answer is easy; score a world-class solo goal against one of your title rivals to secure all three points.

Mané's strike at the Emirates Stadium was that good - it should be considered arguably the best solo goal in the Premier League this campaign.

The Senegal forward has continued in much the same fashion, not least including a winner against Everton earlier this week.
