Not many players have had the season Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper has.
Alisson Becker basically conquered everything there was to conquer. His domestic campaign is the only thing that probably left him and the whole squad wanting more, but picking up 97 points and finishing just one adrift of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City is still quite an achievement.
Nonetheless, winning the coveted Champions League trophy and bagging the Copa America crown along with the Golden Glove of the tournament is something to cherish.
Check out James Milner’s, Olivier Grioud’s and Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s hilarious attempts at the bottle cap challenge in the video below…
By all accounts, the Brazilian had the season of his dreams and definitely the best one in his career to date.
For that reason, he took to Instagram to share a long inspirational message to everyone out there.

And the message was special because it recognised and even celebrated defeat, of all things.
It translated into English as: “In times of achievement celebrate, but never forget defeat, as they are our test of fire! Exactly 4 years ago I was experiencing one of the biggest frustrations of my career, losing a semi-final of the libertadores, knowing that I could have gone further. But I didn’t stop, I kept fighting in pursuit of my dreams, maybe after the defeats, fighting even harder. And that is why today I am grateful, thankful to God for everything that happened in my life, for the victories, and also for the defeats, I am not ashamed of them, on the contrary, I rejoice in God because I know they strengthened me, and I gave strength to be who I am! Never give up, fight for your dreams!!”
A truly inspirational message from a man that knows what both defeat and glory are, and one who will surely hope that it will be second time lucky in his bid to help Liverpool win the Premier League title in the 2019/20 season.
