Summer signing Loris Karius started in goal for Liverpool tonight as the Reds host Manchester United in one of the biggest fixtures of the Premier League season so far.
The German was given the nod ahead of Belgian Simon Mignolet who had failed to keep a clean sheet in the league so far this campaign.
However keeper Karius can count himself fortunate that United haven’t yet broken the deadlock.
And that fortune comes as no thanks to United’s lacklustre forward play, but to a number of woeful errors and looking horribly uncomfortable on the ball – something Mignolet has been famed for during his career at Anfield.
While it is early days in his Liverpool career, the shaky show that has been the first hour of tonight’s fixture certainly don’t bode well and Liverpool fans have been clear with their opinion on their new shot stopper performance on Twitter tonight.
A fair question…
Can Karius not kick the ball down field once in a while? #LIVMUN

Stats don’t lie, do they?
You can explain technical and positional errors but some just are just bad judgement and decisions. Karius guilty of two so far.

Badly treated? …
Imagine if every player got slated as much as Karius is for misplacing one pass ????????

A good analogy.
The game is called football for a reason. Essentially – you should be good with ball at your feet, GK or not. Karius a ticking time bomb.

At least he isn’t alone in his woes.
Karius, Can, Sturridge. Absolute mares.

I thought it was Five?
Karius has the haircut of a late-90s boyband member. Are we sure he wasn't in A1? Or Northern Line, maybe?

Karius clearly skipping leg day, needs to spend a day on the leg press with Xherdan Shaqiri.
Is it just me or has Karius been under hitting almost all of his passes
