Liverpool are interested in Villarreal’s attacking star Luciano Vietto, according to the player’s agent.
The Reds have been heavily linked with the £12m-rated 21-year-old Argentine of late, with reports having suggested that he’s on the club’s list of potential summer additions.
Vietto has been one of Spanish football’s standout performers this term, with his 16 goals in all competitions having helped the Yellow Submarine to a an upper midtable La Liga position and a slot in the last-16 of the Europa League.
And now his agent, Jorge Cysterpiller, has revealed that Liverpool are indeed one of the teams interested in his client:
“We know that a lot of big clubs are watching Luciano Vietto.” He is quoted by The Express. “There is a lot of competition for him.
“He could sign for Liverpool, we know that he is admired by the Reds, as well as Real Madrid and two Bundesliga clubs.
“I think he could leave Villarreal in the summer.”
Vietto has only been a Villarreal player since last summer, when he joined the club from boyhood side Racing Club in Argentina.
He is yet to be capped at senior international level by his nation, but has represented their U-20 team.
