Liverpool have now confirmed their squad for the Club World Cup in Qatar later this month.

Jurgen Klopp has already indicated that the international tournament is amongst his priorities this campaign, and the squad that will travel to the Middle East has now been confirmed. In correlation with his comments on the importance of the trophy, the entire first-team squad will make the trip to try to win the competition for the first time in the club's history.

Of course, the Reds are in the difficult position of needing to play two matches within the space of 24 hours, with their semi-final in the League Cup coming the day before the match in Al-Rayyan. The players will not be able to play in both matches, obviously, which means that an entirely different side will represent the Anfield outfit against the Villans. With Neil Critchley, the U23s boss, to take over for the domestic clash, the club's youngsters will be tasked with getting a result.

Here, we look at the XI that could potentially line-up.

In goal, expect Caoimhin Kelleher to be given the nod. The 21-year-old has been with the first-team on several occasions already this term, and has already featured twice during the League Cup run. He saved Dani Ceballos' penalty as well to send the Anfield outfit to the next round.

At right-back, Ki-Jana Hoever should get the nod, with Neco Williams being included in the squad for the Club World Cup. At left-back, highly-rated Yasser Larouci should start, whilst Sepp van den Berg, who signed from PEC Zwolle during the summer and Billy Koumetio should start.

In the middle of the park, we should see Pedro Chirivella and Elijah Dixon-Bonner selected. Both have been regulars in that role for the U23 squad. In front of them in a 4-2-3-1 formation - this has arguably been their most successful set-up in the Premier League 2 - Isaac Christie-Davies should start in attacking midfield, with Luis Longstaff and Jake Cain alongside him on the flanks. Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott, both of whom would be almost guaranteed to start if they weren't also away with the senior squad, will be missed, but Critchley will be hoping that these two can step into the breach.
