Rhian Brewster was a real star in Liverpool's convincing opening to the 2019 summer pre-season.

The Reds trounced Tranmere Rovers in a six-nil victory that saw them kick things off in true European champion's fashion.

Their up and coming star forward, Brewster, played a key role in the steamrolling performance as he scored two goals to celebrate his big day with the senior team.

The 19-year-old is yet to be fully incorporated into Jurgen Klopp's plans but the German was very much impressed with what he saw and he's looking forward to the youngster's exciting future.

Brewster took to Instagram shortly after the big win and shared his enthusiasm with the fans.

His snap was, naturally, met with a lot of positive feedback from his friends.

Ryan Sessegnon and Ian Rush were among the first ones to the scene and both were clearly impressed with Brewster's performance.

Sessegnon called him "bro" and followed it up with some emojis, while Rush was less talkative and just let the emojis do their thing.

Many other players flooded the youngster's Instagram and showered him with praise.

For now, it does seem like a start of something big.
