Liverpool took the lead early on and Crystal Palace were probably wondering how many goals they were going to lose by. Emre Can’s effort was followed by Sadio Mane breaking behind the Palace defence and it looked as though the game was going to get away from the Eagles.
The great thing about watching this Liverpool side is that they are as bad defensively as they are good offensively. Dejan Lovren has been a key protagonist is messing up at the back and he gifted Palace an equaliser within minutes.
Lovren clearly didn’t fancy a quiet game, though, as he just made it 2-1 with a header from a corner. It has been a ludicrous first 20 minutes or so at Selhurst Park and we could be one for a 5-5 at this rate.
People just don’t know quite what to think…

After all the publicity Marmite has had in recent weeks, Lovren could become the face of the brand. In the last few minutes he has probably made Liverpool fans feel both love and hate in equal doses.

Brian isn’t happy with Lovren or Owen Hargreaves it seems. Whose gonna tell him its only a game?
Lovren from zero to hero

Yep, the Hollywood version of Lovren’s first half against Crystal Palace is coming soon.
Finally, the King of Scouse Twitter.

Carragher has become near-iconic for his 140 character quips, but we reckon most Liverpool fans would rather have him than Lovren at the moment.
