Football fans are just as heavily scrutinised as Premier League footballers.
The game’s most passionate fans will take no prisoners. You support your local club no matter how successful they are that’s that. No second teams. No glory hunting. No going back.
But now that the Premier League is the most watch league in the world and has seen an influx of oil money and some of the best players in the world, we’re now seeing more glory hunters, more second teams and more team switching. And the purists are furious.
And this Liverpool fan decided enough is enough at Anfield over the weekend. He saw a fan reading the lyrics to You’ll Never Walk Alone on his phone while holding his red and white scarf in the air ahead of their clash with West Brom.
The whole ‘No to modern football’ campaign needs to be changed to ‘No to fickle football fans.’
