Luis Suarez has allayed fears he could be heading for the Liverpool exit door by declaring he will still be at Anfield next season.
The striker will miss Sunday’s clash against Everton after being hit with a whopping 10-match ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic and Reds fans feared they may have seen the last of him.
Liverpool are ready to stand by Suarez and ruled out the possibility of selling him, but there was still a chance the striker could decide to escape the Premier League.
However Suarez has allayed such fears and says he is going nowhere.
“I have a deal with Liverpool and this is my present – and future,” Suarez revealed.
The Uruguayan is disappointed to be miss the Everton game but believes there is enough quality in the Liverpool squad to cope without him.
“From the day I arrived, I saw how special this derby is, so it is a pain to miss it,” he added. “But we have a big squad which can function without me.”
