Manchester City were expected to be in the title race with Liverpool this season.

The big fat Liverpool quiz of 2019 - how much do you remember about the last year at Anfield?

The Citizens won the Premier League trophy last season, pipping the Reds to the trophy by a single point. However, whilst many were thinking that we would have a similarly enthralling battle for the title this time around, it has ended up being anything but.

The Reds currently lead the champions by no less than 14 points, and they have a game in hand to boot. That is clearly too much to take for one City fan. Calling up to a BBC Radio 5Live call-in show, he said that Liverpool were having the luckiest season of any team in Premier League history.

As you can imagine, many of the Reds supporters were far from happy with the fanciful claims.

It isn't surprising that many Liverpool fans are unhappy with the comments - it is rather bizarre to say the Reds have been lucky with them winning 20 of their first 21 matches.

Some fans have been quick to point out that they have also had their fair share of injuries.

City have been unfortunate to be without the likes of Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane for long parts of the season, but as has been mentioned, Alisson, Mohamed Salah, Fabinho and Joel Matip have also spent time on the sidelines.

Others, meanwhile, have questioned the comments on the Reds' ability to score late goals.

It is great point - City won a league title by scoring not once, but twice in the dying moments of the game.
